If you have not noticed yet, videotape is rapidly becoming obsolete. Fewer video cameras are being produced that record to tape and VCRs have all but disappeared from stores. Chances are you replaced your VCR with a DVD player several years ago.
Over the past 30 years families have been using videotape to record their memories. The things that used to be captured with motion picture cameras (weddings, birthday parties, graduations, etc.) which required costly film and time consuming processing could now be recorded on inexpensive videotape that could be viewed instantly and without the hassle of lugging out the projector and screen.
Sadly, however, that convenience has come at a terrible cost. Videotapes have a short lifespan and many of the oldest tapes are rapidly degrading to the point of failure. The magnetic signal recorded on the tape actually weakens with time and VCRs can no longer play back the signal.
To put it plainly, unless you have your aging videotapes transferred to DVD or other digital format, you will lose the precious memories you have recorded on them forever.
We can help you preserve your treasured memories. For around $15 per recorded hour we can transfer your videotapes to DVD or, if you prefer, to an external hard disk drive supplied by you.
Unlike the photo developing shops or big chain stores that ship your videos to their labs out of state, you bring your tapes here and place them directly in the hands of the trained professionals who will be doing the transfer on site.
